Clearstone is developing a large scale data centre campus located on land adjacent to the M1 near Luton.
The site is located close to the existing Hemel Hemsted Data Centre Availability Zone and could make a significant contribution to the Government’s goal of tripling UK data centre compute capacity from 2GW to 6GW by 2030 in support of the growth of digital and AI services in the UK.
The project has secured outline planning permission and is awaiting a confirmed grid connection date.
Project overview
The Junction DC project would make a significant contribution to the local economy and help build a reputation for Luton as a digital infrastructure and skills hub.
The project would create approximately 1,400 jobs and £40m in wages during the construction phase.
Once operational it would generate 600 skilled, local jobs with £30m in wages and a net increase of approximately £190m of GVA.
