Rewiring the UK
Clearstone is a leading independent developer of renewable energy and data centre projects. We specialise in large-scale projects that connect to the UK’s high voltage electricity transmission network.
The UK has set ambitious targets for renewable energy and data centre growth. Our expertise lies in identifying the strategic locations across the UK – where these projects can best contribute to achieving these targets – and overcoming the complex power, environmental and regulatory challenges required to deliver these new infrastructure projects.

Wired to deliver best in class projects
Our company is committed to developing best-in-class projects that drive positive change – spurring economic growth, enhancing biodiversity and helping local communities to thrive.
Our experienced team has a proven track record of developing successful infrastructure projects across a range of technologies. Every site and every project is different but our integrated approach to project development ensures that technical, environmental, financial and community needs are balanced in final designs and operations.

Energy innovators and problem solvers
UK electricity networks were built to run on fossil fuels. The transition to renewable energy sources and the electrification of transport, heat and industry is putting tremendous pressure on network infrastructure creating a range of challenges – from grid connection queues through evolving public policy to lengthy planning processes – that threaten to derail projects.
Our technical expertise, creativity and agility enables us to find the solutions that keep our projects on track.
We were one of the first developers to deliver solar projects directly connected to the UK’s high voltage transmission network. We were the launch partner for the National Grid’s Energy Park programme, an innovative project designed to accelerate the connection of battery storage to the transmission network.

Projects that go beyond infrastructure
We believe that our projects can be more than just infrastructure.
They can also serve as habitats for wildlife and contribute to the preservation of local ecosystems. That’s why we are committed to including a significant level of biodiversity enhancements within the design of our solar farms, energy storage and data centre projects.
We also believe that infrastructure projects should benefit local communities. For example, Clearstone allows for a series of annual payments to the local community to support the adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Reinvesting in local communities is not only the right thing to do, but it also makes good business sense. When local communities benefit from energy and data centre projects, they are more likely to support them and encourage their growth.
